Joseph Scott is an accomplished trial attorney. With over 37 years of experience, he has successfully represented clients in state and federal courts as well as private arbitration forums throughout Ohio. He has earned a Martindale-Hubbell Notable rating for his legal ability and high ethical standards.
Joseph has extensive trial experience in state and federal courts. He has served as lead trial counsel in hundreds of complex federal litigation matters concerning civil rights violations, class and collective actions, and employment matters. He has successfully conducted jury trials in state and federal courts concerning civil rights violations, wrongful death claims, contract disputes, and construction litigation. He has appeared before appellate courts throughout Ohio as well as the Ohio Supreme Court and the United States Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. Joseph is admitted to practice before all courts in Ohio, the United States Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, the United States District Courts for the Northern District and Southern District of Ohio, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, the United States District Court for North Dakota. He has also been granted pro hac vice admission by the United States District Courts in Pennsylvania, New York, Utah, and the District of Columbia.
Joseph received his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame and his juris doctorate degree from the University of Akron School of Law. He has been a frequent lecturer on federal practice and procedure. His clients have included municipalities, employers and thousands of individuals seeking wage fairness.
